I have always been artistic. Even as a child I drew and created. I’ve dabbled in oil
painting, acrylic painting and other media but found them too slow and tedious. Then I discovered watercolor. I fell in love immediately. Because my job requires accuracy and attention to detail (I do house design), I craved the freedom and looseness that can be created with watercolor. Sometimes, the paint and water on the paper mix in unexpected ways and create images that I could never plan. I sometimes paint more detailed and realistic paintings but I enjoy a more impressionistic approach.

Because of my love of the outdoors, I gravitate mostly to landscapes, seascapes, and cityscapes. I have occasionally been commissioned to do other types of scenes but they have to be something I’m comfortable with.
